Every blinds quote now reaches the right store
Casa Velo sells blinds, curtains and wallpaper in nine stores across northern Mexico, but its old website sent every request to a single inbox. We built a new site with a store locator, catalogs and an in-home measurement request that goes to each store's WhatsApp.

For Casa Velo Persianas & Tapiz, with nine stores in Torreón, Gómez Palacio, Saltillo, Monterrey, Chihuahua, Ciudad Juárez, Durango and Zacatecas, we developed a website with a store locator, product catalogs, a measurement request that goes to the chosen store's WhatsApp, schema for every store and 312 301 redirects from the old site. Measurement requests rose 96%.
Where they started
Casa Velo started in Torreón in 2003 as a curtain workshop and now has nine stores, two of them in Torreón. It sells roller, sheer, Roman, wood and motorized blinds, custom curtains, awnings and wallpaper, almost always with an in-home measurement visit and installation included.
The old website had more than 300 outdated pages, heavy PDF catalogs and a single form that landed in the head office inbox. Someone forwarded requests to each store, sometimes two days later. Switching websites was scary, because those old pages brought in a large share of visits from Google.
What we built
We built a new website with browsable catalogs by product type, fabric and color instead of PDFs. The locator shows all nine stores on a map and suggests the closest one; each store has its own page with address, hours, phone, showroom photos and its own LocalBusiness schema.
The measurement request asks for the product of interest, number of windows, neighborhood and preferred time. On submit it opens the chosen store's WhatsApp with everything written out, and it's logged in a spreadsheet so the head office can see how many requests come in and how many get handled at each store.
To avoid losing rankings, we mapped the 312 URLs from the old site that had traffic or backlinks and gave each one a 301 redirect to its new equivalent. We checked Search Console daily for the first four weeks. It's the same SEO method we apply to any migration.
- Website with catalogs by product, fabric and color
- Locator for 9 stores with a map
- A page for each store with LocalBusiness schema
- Measurement request to each store's WhatsApp
- Request log by store
- 312 301 redirects from the old site
- Google Business Profiles for all 9 stores
- Migration monitoring in Search Console
How it came together
- 01
Discovery
Inventory of 300+ old URLs, traffic by page and each store's quoting process.
Weeks 1–2 - 02
Catalog and design
Catalogs by product, fabric and color with showroom photos.
Weeks 3–5 - 03
Stores and quote form
Locator, store pages and WhatsApp measurement requests.
Weeks 6–7 - 04
Migration
312 301 redirects, schema and Google profiles.
Weeks 8–9 - 05
Monitoring
Daily Search Console checks and adjustments.
Week 10
The numbers
Three months in, measurement requests went from 71 to 139 a month, and each one reaches the right store within minutes. The Saltillo and Chihuahua stores, which used to get almost no online requests, now account for 31% of the total.
The migration didn't cost any traffic: at 90 days organic visits were up 27% and clicks on "Directions" from Google Maps grew 2.6×.
“Our biggest worry was losing Google when we switched websites, and the opposite happened. Today every manager gets their requests straight on their WhatsApp.”
