AguaMap: water billing without lines or spreadsheets
AguaMap is the customer-roll, billing and collections system we built for municipal water utilities in Mexico. It organizes accounts, meter readings, rates, cashiering and arrears so every peso collected has a receipt number and every customer has a full history.
It's software that keeps the roll of customers and service connections, calculates what each account owes every period (metered or flat rate), takes payments at the counter with numbered receipts and reports revenue and arrears. AguaMap includes the customer roll, accounts, metered and flat rates, meter-reading entry, billing by period, fast cashiering, thermal-printer receipts, payment plans, a delinquent-accounts list and cash closeouts, with users and role-based permissions.
In many small and mid-size Mexican municipalities, water billing still runs on an old desktop system, spreadsheets or handwritten receipts. The results are familiar: long lines at the counter, customers who don't know what they owe, cash closeouts that don't balance and arrears nobody can measure accurately. AguaMap grew out of a real project with a water utility, and it's designed so a cashier can take a payment in seconds and the director can see the day's revenue without asking for a report.
The system is web-based, built with PHP and MySQL, and runs in any browser, on the utility's own network or on a cloud server. Every user has a role: the administrator sets up rates, cash registers and users; the supervisor sees revenue from every register and the delinquent list; the cashier only sees fast checkout and their own closeouts. We implement it with migration of your current customer roll, on-site training and support through launch.
